Senate changes the name of the Nigerian police force, checkout the new name
The Nigerian Senate has pushed for the change of name from
the Nigerians Police Force to simply the Nigerian Police.
On Wednesday,
July 26, 87 senators voted YES to support the bill while 2 senators voted NO
and 1 abstained.
The Nigerian Senate has also voted to alter the constitution
to allow independent candidates contest elections in the country and to change
the name of the Nigeria Police Force.
As an independent
candidate, an individual will be able to contest in an election without
belonging to any political party.
